So where does your money go?

• 61% of all funds will go directly to lighting up the homes of Rizan and his two neighboring families.
• The remaining 39% is used for project organization and logistics.
• We have done this project 21 times before. Trust me, your money will be well spent.

Together with more than 40 volunteers we'll drive deep into the jungle and install the solar powered lights for Rizan and his neighbors. You can be one those volunteers, just pick the right perk.

The story of Rizan's family

Rizan works several jobs to provide for his family. Without lights, it's impossible for him and his family to do anything at night. He worries about his 5 year old daughter who enjoys going out to her friend's house after sunset to study.

Imagine having to light up your home with candles and sometimes even bonfires. You can’t go outside because the risk of running into dangerous, wild animals is real. And studying at night is nearly impossible. 

This is how Rizan's family and his neigbors in Kampung Teras live their daily lives. No electricity. Ever.

Having light at night is a matter of life or death to them. It makes going out at night safe, helps the kids to study, and brings the people closer together. Join us in our mission to give them light at night, so they won’t have to sit in darkness during Christmas, or ever again.

We have done this project 21 times before. We know what we're doing. 

The only risk is:

• If we don't hit our funding goal, we will have to light up Rizan's home next year, when we find another sponsor. 

What happens to any excess funding?

• Any excess funding for this campaign will contribute to the next family in this build. If all the families are funded and there is still excess funding, then those funds will be allocated to another build in which we'lll light up another village with solar powered lights.
